EnableNSW Advisory Council
EnableNSW Advisory Council Members
The advisory council was appointed by the Director-General, NSW Health, Professor Debora Picone AM in October 2008. The Council, comprising members with knowledge, skills and experience from both a consumer and service delivery perspective across all the EnableNSW programs, meet quarterly.
The Council reports to the Director-General through the Chief Executive, Health Support Services. It plays a key role by providing advice on matters of strategic importance regarding the EnableNSW programs, which are:
- Program of Appliances for Disabled People (PADP)
- Artificial Limb Service (ALS)
- Home Respiratory Program (HRP), including the Home Oxygen Service, the Adult Home Ventilation Program and the Children’s Home Ventilation Program.
The membership of the Council includes ten members selected following an expression of interest (EOI) process and three representational members.

- Dr Chris Poulos – Rehabilitation Physician
- Ms Lesley Gild – Carer of person with a disability
- Ms Tonina Harvey – Registered Nurse
- Ms Sylvana Mahmic – Carer of person with a disability
- Mr Alan Membrey – Consumer
- Ms Angela Stark – Physiotherapist
- Ms Ann-Mason Furmage – Consumer
- Ms Alina Caroll-Roper – Occupational Therapist
- Mr Greg Killeen – Consumer
- A/Professor Karen Waters – Paediatric Respiratory Physician
Representational members:
- Mr Dougie Herd – Executive Officer, Disability Council of NSW
- Ms Cathrine Lynch, Director, Primary Health and Community Partnerships, NSW Department of Health
- Ms Alix Goodwin, Executive Director, Strategic Policy and Planning, Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care
Dr Poulos and Ms Lesley Gild are Co-Chairs of the Council.
The EnableNSW Governance Structure also includes special purpose working groups and annual consultations with consumers of the services.
