Applying to EnableNSW for Mechanical In-Exsufflation equipment

1. Physiotherapists with experience in treating and managing people on MIE should familiarise themselves with the MIE Funding Criteria, noting there are two different criteria depending on whether the MIE user is older or younger than 12 years’ of age
2. Before commencing MIE please ensure a Pre-Questionnaire is completed and baseline measures are performed
3. After completing MIE set-up/training and a two week home trial of MIE, NSW Health clinicians can submit the request via EnableNSW Online. Clinicians who care for patients in a private clinical setting will need to complete the MIE Equipment Request Form and email to enable@health.nsw.gov.au
4. Ensure the following is attached with your MIE equipment request
   • Two week compliance download
   • Pre-questionnaire and
   • Completed script for device set-up
5. Ensure an EnableNSW Application Form is completed by the applicant. This can also be submitted online - EnableNSW Online Application Form.
6. Once we have received all the above information, the request will be reviewed by our team and you will be notified of the outcome via email
